Has anyone connected their NeXT to an Ethernet using a box to convert from Thick to Thin? Our Ethernet has a backbone coax which starts on the 6th floor and goes down to the basement then through a tunnel to the building next door and up to the 2nd floor. To connect to the Suns, DecStations, MicroVaxs, and Macintosh machines we have transceviers with taps into the backbone coax. From each tranceiver we have a 15 pin cable running to a machine. The NeXT we have now is connected to the end of the backbone coax. We now need another NeXT connection which is not close enough to the other one to use a tee on the ThinNet. Therefore we need a Thick to Thin converter which DEC sells for $1500. Is there a cheaper way to do this?
