That's what I was told when I recently bought FrameMaker( that NeXTstep 2.0 will update FrameMaker to 2.0c which should run). So, will someone give some kind of definitive answer to this. I talked to the people at Frame just a few weeks ago and there was` no mention of 2.0d and this January() deadline for sending in an OD. If someone has NeXTSTep 2.0 and FrameMaker 2.0c NOT running, perhaps they would be so kind as to tell us what happens? Philip McDunnough University of Toronto

Click on the Info panel, read carefully the version number. If you are running Frame 2.0 (no letter suffix) then FrameUpdate.pkg in /NextAdmin of NeXT 2.0 gold will *not* work. If the version is 2.0b, then the update package will upgrade it to 2.0c... 2.0c buys you the ability to work with documents, the Math (equations...) will *not* work. Frame says they will be releasing 2.0d and ultimately 2.1 which will allow you to get a fully function FrameMaker running again. I hope this clears stuff up. pasc -- Pascal Chesnais, Research Specialist, Electronic Publishing Group Media Laboratory, E15-348, 20 Ames Street, Cambridge, Ma, 02139 (617) 253-0311 email: lacsap@plethora.media.mit.edu (NeXT)

Well, sorry, not quite... you think Frame is producing a 2.1 for NeXT; and for a while Frame did too, since they demo'd it under that name at a recent BaNG meeting; but last week our Frame sales rep told us that, no, sorry, they had changed their minds and would not be releasing a version 2.1 for the NeXT. (He made no mention of any 2.0d at that time, either; we have only heard of it through net postings.) So perhaps you would like to try again to clear things up? Even nicer, perhaps somebody from Frame would try?
