I've modified "/private/etc/swaptab" to use specify a 4-Meg low water mark, hoping to conserve some precious space on this 105meg machine. The swapfile does get initialized to 4Meg, and expands as processes are started, but as processes are shut down it usually doesn't shrink, and when it does, then only by a couple of K. Am I expecting something unreasonable, trying to do this the wrong way, or is the only way to shrink the swapfile to reboot the machine? -- Jay Finger #include <stddisclaimer.h> finger@evax.utarl.edu finger@csun5.utarl.edu b645zai@utarlg.utarl.edu
