I have an 84 Skyhawk with an annoying squawk up front. it seems whenever it is cold out and the car goes over a bump, the car creaks. the colder it is out and the larger the bump, the louder the car creaks. The dealer replaced my front bushings but that did not help. As far as i know, the problem seems to be present in all 84 J-cars. If you know a fix for this and/or what causes it, please send me mail. steve

It first appears when the temperature has hit in the 40's overnight. The noise disappears if the car is driven for a period of about 40 minutes and has a chance to warm up. It never happens during the summer (ie. when it stays above ~50 degrees). I also would appreciate any information or fixes, or a summary of responses posted to the net. Bill
