We are investigating dialup connectivity solutions for NeXT computers. We would be very interested in hearing from anyone who has successfully set up SLIP, PPP, a BBS/conferencing system, or for that matter, UUCP on their cube or slab. What kind of software/hardware did you use, and what kind of hangups or sandbars did you run into? We are particularly interested in solutions for standalone and home NeXTs. We are contributing editors for NeXTWORLD magazine (which debuts, BTW, January 10). Will summarize for the net ... With regard to BBS and conferencing, my company is in the process of porting the COCONET(R) software over to NeXT at this very moment. COCONET currently runs on SCO UNIX/XENIX platforms. Supports the traditional BBS features such as private mail, group forum areas, file transfer areas, etc. Also supports on-line graphics, multiple fonts, colors, etc. NeXT users will access a COCONET-based system using a COCONET Access Program for NeXT, which runs in NeXTstep and will exploit the NeXT user interface.
