Well, considering I am now running emacs under 2.0, *someone* has to have
done so...

No no, he means the wonderful Emacs wrapper application with the kitchen
sink icon.

I recompiled it and it worked but the cursor disappeared. Since the
alt key appears to work as the meta- key "as God intended" it's not so
bad, but I wish I had the time to fix the invisible cursor. I'm sure
it's some cheezy little hack. But I've got real code to write.
