I've been having problems with mail on my 68030 Cube since I upgraded to
NextStep 2.0. For one user (and one user only) the mail icon shows
letters in the envelope, but when the Active mailbox is opened there's
nothing there. Running the mail program from a Terminal window shows
that the mail is in /usr/spool/mail, it's just the Mail app that isn't
copying it to the mailbox.
I read the on-line documentation about these symptoms, but as far as I
can see everything is set up properly. (i.e. I removed and recreated
the Active.mbox as suggested by the documentation)
Here's everything that I've checked.

Any ideas what's going on here?
The mail application works properly for *all* other users on this machine.

There's one thing you might check. Mail under 2.0 has a preference (under "Expert") that lets you specify what spool directory you want to read your mail from. It's possible that this preference got changed by a curious user who did not realize its implications. The value of this preference should be "/usr/spool/mail" in your scenario. Hope that helps.
