Hello netters. I thought I'd pass on this tidbit from Ken Seigmann's and Don Clark's Technology column in the Jan. 17, 1991 issue of the San Francisco Chronicle (cited here w/out permission): "Next and Businessland Breaking Up? Steve Jobs' struggling Next Inc. seems to be trying to distance itself from ailing computer reseller, Businessland Inc. Businessland, based in San Jose, has been the sole authorized dealer for Palo Alto-based Next machines under an agreement that was big news when it was announced two years ago. But Next has begun to sign up other dealers, starting with Computer Attic, a four-store computer chain based in Palo Alto. Some sources close to Businessland and Next say the two companies are dissolving their relationship. Spokespersons for both companies deny that. Yet Businessland Chairman Dave Norman, in a telephone interview, sounded less definite. He said Businessland is still filling orders for Next equipment. Asked if Businessland will continue to sell Next, he said: "I hope so." He wouldn't say if he expects the relationship to continue..." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ sethross@well.sf.ca.us Ross Communications "Wait until the war is over / and we're both a little older ...
