I am curious about whether or not anti-lock brakes are desirable/prevalent on performance vehicles (non production). I haven't heard of any using them, but then I really wouldn't know... Why would you ever "want" to lock your wheels at speed (J turns excluded)? -eli -- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Eli Liang --- University of Maryland Computer Vision Lab, (301) 454-4526 ARPA: eli@cvl, eli@lemuria, eli@mit-mc, eli@mit-prep CSNET: eli@cvl UUCP: {seismo,allegra,brl-bmd}!umcp-cs!cvl!eli

You wouldn't --- that's why ABS systems are being introduced (by Ford, GM, Mercedes, Audi, ...). Alas, ABS is not cheap and so will be restricted to upmarket cars for the next few years. Anti-lock brakes have been around in Europe for a while, but they were not introduced in North America previously as manufacturers feared lawsuits stemming from accidents. \tom haapanen watmath!watdcsu!haapanen Im all lost in the Supermarket I can no longer shop happily I came in here for that special offer Guaranteed personality (c) The Clash, 1979

If you consider jet aircraft performance vehicles, then you have heard of the main use of ABS braking systems.
