I watched the race on ESPN and was amazed at their lack of comment on the Senna/Rosberg incident. But then, I've come to expect that from them. It certainly seemed to me that Senna came back across the track without the knowledge that Rosberg was there. Even as an amateur racer and autocrosser I know how to use my mirrors. As for the second episode (Rosberg blocking Senna), I was rooting for Keke all the way! Again, the commentators just let the whole incident go by as if nothing was happening. I guess I can go off on a tangent here if I want to. The coverage of the F1 races by ESPN has been nice to have. It just seems that the commentators haven't been terribly aware of what was going on, on the track. Jackie Stewart is the best of them, Bob Jenkins isn't that bad either, John Bisignano (sp?) is the poorest excuse for a racer/commentator I've seen in a long time and Larry Nuber belongs back on the dirt tracks (not meaning to downgrade dirt tracks). At the beginning of the season it was Bisignano with Stewart as 'color', Stewart was walking all over the guy! What I mean by that is that Stewart knew the drivers and tracks better and could actually relate to what was happening on the track. After a couple of races it was Stewart commentating and Bisignano adding a few inane comment now and then. Jenkins held his own and did a good job. Nuber had more feeling talking about the upcoming football game than he did talking about the race. I thank ESPN for the coverage of the F1 season and I'm glad I don't live of the west coast and have to get up at 5:30 Sunday mornings to catch the race live. I just may turn down the sound and enjoy the racing action next year.
