[comp.sys.next] NeXTconq?

scott@sage.uchicago.edu (Scott Deerwester) (01/24/91)

Among the lengthening list of games that I have been addicted to (is
there a local chapter of Computer Games Anonymous?) is xconq.
Wonderful game. You can play it with multiple players on different
machines. It's an empire-like game of world conquest. It comes in a
curses version, an x11 version and an x10 version. The display code
is nicely modular. There are three files; curses.c, X11.c and X10.c.
They're only 431 lines, 986 lines and 1143 lines, respectively.

Sort of makes me wonder if anybody has tried to port the thing to the
NeXT. The port should be ridiculously easy. The source code is in:

	gatekeeper.dec.com:/pub/X11/R3-contrib/xconq5.tar.Z

should somebody be interested. It'd take a motivated hacker a couple
of days, I'd think (if you had a couple of days, which I regrettably
don't).

So, is there a NeXTconq out there yet? If not, will you mail me a
copy when you're done? Please? :-)
