Last week after I upgraded to NS 2.0, I noticed something wonderful when I ran PrintManager. Instead of 3 printers listed, there were many and many! Best of all, the HP Laserjet III PostScript was there! Wonderful! I changed my printer from Laserwriter Plus to HP LJ3, and noticed absolutely no difference in printing performance! Except one. Now, whenever a print job is completed, the printers "Processing Data" Light continues to blink indefinitely. In fact, it is still blinking now, even after 12 hours of nothing. If I reset the printer, sometimes it will stop. Sometimes, it will stop, then start again in a few minutes. The command lpr <filename> does nothing, except that sometimes it will stop the blinking light! Also, if I tell the computer to print n copies, it does so -- sending the complete PS page to the printer again and again! It won't simply tell the printer to make n copies, which it is capable of. The NeXT print manager also doesn't download fonts to the LJ on the fly. If I use a font in my program that is not printer resident, I get courier. Apart from the above problems, everything is fine and dandy! So, I ask for suggestions. I'm even open to the obvious one (Get a NeXT printer). Which brings me to my last question: How much can I reasonablly expect to get for an HP LaserJet III w/HP's PostScript, Appletalk, 3 megs RAM, and still on its first toner cartridge?
