CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -DJ- Lotus Development Corp. said it has begun
shipping
its Improv spreadsheet for the NeXT computer.
In a release, it said Improv combines traditional metaphors, such as
rows and columns, with new features, such as dynamic spreadsheet views,
plain English formulas, and presentation graphics incorporating data,
text, graphics, images and sound.
Lotus said Improv enables users to quickly reformat by creating
multiple
views of the same spreadsheet without re-keying information.
It said Improv has a suggested retail price of $695, but that Lotus
and NeXT, in a promotion through March 31, are offering a free copy to
buyers of NeXT 68040 computers or to those who upgrade a NeXT computer
with a 68040 upgrade kit.
