I have been looking at the NextStation machines and have pretty much decided to get one. I can afford a NextStation (monochrome) now and can not decide whether that is good enough although I would assume that all Next applications are in black and White. I am running UNIX on a PC and have been collecting programs off the internet, because I do not have much money, so I would want to be able to port those programs to the Next. Is this easy to do or is the Next somewhat incompatible with other versions of UNIX. Also, I have seen some postings about buying an 030 Cube for $2300 and up grading it. At educational prices this would allow me to build a monochrome Cube for about the price of a monochrome NextStation. Would this be a better Idea or am I missing something. Last, are OS upgrades being help up as much as the 040 boards. It would be helpful if I could get some comments on this from people who know more than I do. ps. Is the 040 upgrade option a limited time only or can I wait until I save up enough money.
