[comp.sys.next] Cassandra

cmaz514@ut-emx.uucp (Raghu Ramachandran) (02/08/91)

I am on a NeXTStation, and I have the following problem. Everytime I
try to open Cassandra1.4a I get the following warning

The Event file is still in use. It was opened by me on Thu 7 Feb 1991
      9:52:23 p.m.

If I select "open anyway" the program hangs. I can't find anything called
"Event file" anywhere.

Any ideas are appreciated

The "Event File" by default is stored in ~/.cassandra/events. I can't
tell from here what is wrong with your setup, I'd appreciate it if you'd
send me some more information (by e-mail, so as to not wasted bandwidth):
Please do the following, please send by NeXTMail (or e-mail) to
jiro@shaman.com:

	From the shell:
		ls -lg ~/.cassandra
		dread -o Cassandra

This should give me some clues as to what is going wrong. My address
in the Info Panel has changed (by the way, everyone). It is now
jiro@shaman.com. Yes! I'm my own mail site! Yeah for desktop unix
boxes! :-) If anyone needs help getting UUCP set up and becoming a
site, aske me. :-) x 5.

ps. You should really get your news poster fixed. I wanted to reply by
e-mail but you don't have a proper return address (cmaz514@ut-emx.uucp
is not kosher). Please either get your poster fixed or put a proper
.signature line (see below) that identifies you and lets you know how
people can get in contact with you other than the net. Just your first
name is great on a BBS, but not on the net. Not to sound too didactic
here. :-)
