It is about 5 degrees F outside here in milwaukee today. I've decided my car, which sits outside, could use an engine heater. I'm not sure which kind to install however. My car is a 1976 Ford Econoline E150 with a 351 V8 (windsor?) engine. I have air conditioning. I have browsed through the JC Whitney catalog and notice they have various types: Freeze plug, dip stick, tank, pump, and lower radiator, and magnetic stick-on heaters. Being not much of a mechanic the stick on and dip stick models sound easy but inefficient. The pump type description says you just have to splice it into the heater return hose, though I wonder if it will work on my car. The lower radiator one says you need to have a lower radiator hose that angles upward with a straight section of about 3" (my radiator hose is bent out of shape). Where does the freeze plug type go? Anyone have any comments on this? Please send me mail, for I can only post news until my site gets its news feed back in a couple months. -- AT&T: (414) 963-5133 {The views above may or may} `O_o' ARPA: uwmcsd1!dave@wisc-rsch.ARPA {not reflect the views of any} ( ) UUCP: ..!{ihnp4,uwvax!uwmacc}!uwmcsd1!dave {other person or group at UWM} U Usnail: Dave Rasmussen, UW-Milw CSD, Box413, Milwaukee WI 53201. :-) Ack Phft!
