[comp.sys.next] what means *.wn ???

Gerhard.Moeller@arbi.informatik.uni-oldenburg.de (Gerhard Moeller) (02/13/91)

Hello everybody.
I have indeed a simple but essential question:
As I'm going to buy a Next next month (or a month later), I walk around - not
only the clock - but some ftp sites with next stuff. Especially the newsletters
and docs are of great interest for me. But: (Now it comes...)
I got some, uncompressed them, untared them and....
... got some files ending with .wn .
Great. How can I handle those, that's the quiz.
(1st prize: a smile in my eyes.)
Thanks a whole lot yous outta there. Gerhard.
PS: "On the floor there lie angel, in the middle of the room there is a chair,
an old man sitting there with a rifle in his hands. He's targeting his head
     - in the head, through the head, out of the head - the bullet hits the
roof. God has shot himself, let's build a new floor on the top..."

Have you tried double-clicking on them from the File Viewer or typing
open filename.wn from a shell?

I guess I didn't read your posting too carefully the first time.
That's what happens when you try to read everything :-). Anyway, .wn
files are WriteNow documents. WriteNow is the word processor that
comes with the NeXT.

BTW: Remember that you get Lotus Improv free if you buy before March 31
Starting April 1, it's gonna cost a few hundred bucks.
