Has anyone had any problems with "Preferences"? The scenario of my problem is: I login and "Preferences" is running but the time is wrong. I double click on it to set the time and it turns off and dumps a core in my directory. If I run it from a terminal window I get a "null pointer" error. Any ideas? BTW- There's a lot of discussion about the 512/1024 block density. I used the "disk" command to initialize my internal 105meg(in a station) with 1024 bytes per block. My external Newburry too. Here's the command: (for initialization of an internal drive from an external boot), disk -d 1024 -i /dev/rsd1a. I'm quite irritated at the limited "bad block" handling capabilities of the stock "disk" command. The other systems I use have a "disk" command with bad block mapping capabilities. (i.e. DEC's rzdisk) Does anyone know if the "stock" BSD "disk" program has bad block mapping capabilities?
