I've organized a demo of the new NeXT system at the following location TRIUMF Auditorium University of British Columbia 4004 Wesbrook Mall Vancouver, B.C. Canada, V6T 2A3 Date: Feb. 28, 1991 Time: 10am - 5pm Besides the local NeXT rep., I've asked representatives from WordPerfect Corporation demo of WordPerfect for NeXT Lotus Development Corporation demo of Lotus Inprov for NeXT Oracle Corporation demo of Oracle for NeXT This will be an open forum demo with hands on experience for attendees. Anyone who will be in the Vancouver Area on Feb 28, is welcome to attend. On hand will be NeXTstation, NeXTstation color and NeXTcube with NeXTDimension board. Software on display, beside NeXTstep 2.0 ... X-Windows 11R4 from Pencom Arbort Soft Fortran 77 TeX Greyboard Drawing Program TopDraw Diagram Adobe Illustrator SoftPC WordPerfect Oracle Lotus Improv and many others .... Theme: Using the NeXT computers in a Research and Business enviroment. TRIUMF (which stands for TRI University Meson Facility) is a particle accelerator (cyclotron) situated on the campus of the University of British Columbia. Talk has been underway the past year for converting the main control room console, to a graphical based unix workstation. I think the NeXT is a perfect platform for this. So I've set up this demo to get some feedback from other users. Perhaps if enough people agree with me, then management will go ahead with my proposal of using NeXT computers. I need your support... So show up and tell me what you think !!! Now if I could get Steve Jobs to come and do a short presentation .... That would give it the old 1-2 punch... Steve, are you listening ?
