[comp.sys.next] NeXT User Journal is HERE!!!

jchin@van-bc.wimsey.bc.ca (Joseph Chin) (02/18/91)

I am posting this for Erica. Please direct all responses to the e-mail address
shown at the end of this article.

NUJ #12 is out at the nets. The lapse in issues was due to personal
illness (bronchitis followed by flu) and schoolwork (core exams for the
PhD program here) (I passed). As of now, NUJ >is< rewarding author effort.
Our target audience and required articles are very different from
NeXTworld (personally I was very impressed by their issue #1) and I
want to encourage authors to submit articles to both. We focus on technical
how-to articles and reviews and N-W looks for slick, general interest
articles. True, it should be carefully noted that NeXTworld will
pay professional wages and NUJ simply can not (we are currently rewarding
with stuffed "Buzz"'es -- absolutely adorable! -- see the NUJ Manifesto
in issue #12). However, NUJ is a volunteer effort -- we are a product of
a group of interested individuals getting together and putting out a
newsletter that is technically sound and of extreme usefulness for our
community of developers. Please, if you have ideas for articles : if you
want either to write 'em or read 'em, send the ideas to me at
erica@kong.gatech.edu or call me (10am to 10pm).

Long time reader of the journal? Please carefully read the Manifesto
article! We are making an important plea which is vital to the
continued success of the journal.

Thanks all,

Erica

(If no response within 7 days, please repost to me and try again -- our
 mailer has many problems).

"Georgia, Georgia, the whole day through; just an old sweet song keeps Georgia
on my mind. Georgia, Georgia, the song of you; comes as sweet and clear as
moonlight through the pines. Cause her arms reach out to me; cause her eyes
smile tenderly; still in peaceful dreams I see, the road leads back to you.
Georgia, no peace I find. Just an old sweet song keeps Georgia on my mind."
