An earlier question on the net "Can syquest removable cartridge drives
be used on the NeXT?" has been answered with System 2.0. My question is
"Can a Ricoh type removable be used?" These drives are SCSI I devices
but the real question I suppose is if there exists a disktab file for
it. I should explain that I am a Mac user who is planning to transfer
over to the NeXT and would like to invest in a storage medium that can
do double duty on both systems (with the obvious formatting changes).
Microtech apparently is planning to market a formatter caller
"Transporter" which *may* allow partitioning a Ricoh for both Mac and
NeXT (NFS) but it hasn't been released yet and nobody at Microtech can
give me details. System 2.0 apparently has the disktab files for the
Syquest, but is there a file for the Ricoh or has anyone written one up
yet? I don't yet have my cube to check for myself or I wouldn't be
wasting the bandwidth over this. Thanks in advance for any info.
