Hi, I know this question has been asked before but I don't recall seeing an answer. Does anyone know how to create a bootable floppy or tape? I would prefer to know how to create a "mini"-boot (That is a minimum system configuration --- just enough to get you into single user mode with some basic functions [such as rm, cp, ed, vi(?), etc.]). I managed to thrash a system while playing around with Netinfo. Currently, the system will only boot to a single user mode and the system disk is mounted as read only. I think the problem is that /etc/fstab does not have an entry for the system disk --- so the system never gets into Netinfo ... I will probably configure another system as a server system so that I can boot across the ethernet. However, I do think that it would be really nice to be able to boot from floppy into a standalone system. If people E-Mail me their responses I will post the results to the Net. ---Jack Jack Stewart Jack@Hmcvax (Bitnet) User Support Coordinator, jack@hmcvax.claremont.edu (Internet) Harvey Mudd College, jack@134.173.4.32 (also Internet) Claremont, Ca. 91711 714-621-8006
