[comp.sys.next] /private/spool/appkit

cnh5730@calvin.tamu.edu (Chuck Herrick) (02/22/91)

On a magical mystery tour of /private/spool/appkit, I found several
files about which I have a question. Below is a listing:

prompt# ls -Flags
total 78
   1 drwxrwxrwx 2 agent daemon 1024 Feb 20 08:35 ./
   1 drwxr-xr-x 11 root wheel 1024 Dec 14 15:21 ../
  15 -rw------- 1 customer customer 15091 Feb 16 19:07 spooled.1
  22 -rw------- 1 customer customer 21581 Feb 17 18:42 spooled.2
  39 -rw------- 1 customer customer 38935 Feb 20 08:35 spooled.3

these files seem to contain PostScript code, and indicate that they
are related to different NeXTapps...

Can anyone enlighten me as to the purpose, source, and nature of these
files?
Can they be deleted without cratering something?

thanks..

See previous followup -- I suspect they are unprinted files,
which your print spooler has not deleted.
I also have cron cancel hung printjobs every midnight.
