I'm interested in a source for body moldings and interior parts for an 82 - 84 body style Trans-Am. Firstly, The seats in my '82 are on the hard side and provide little lumbar support and little adjustability. I'd like to replace them with something better, but don't know where to start looking. Secondly, I'm probably going to have it painted next year (probably urethane) and am interested in whether body moldings similar to the custom parts I've seen on Fieros and RX-7's are available for my car. As a side note, can you paint those plastic front and back bumpers? Or do you have to buy them the right color and try to match the rest of the car to them? Lastly, if anyone else out there has a T/A my approximate year with manual transmission, does your right elbow bang into the console glove compartment during shifting? It's probably the least ergonomic feature of the entire car. I notice that the newer T/As have a sloping front edge on the glove compartment that probably helps a lot. But the new ones are way out of my price range, so I was wondering what I could do to remedy mine. Other than those couple points, I really love this car. The handling is the best I've experianced and the V8 just has to putter along to keep me ahead of traffic. You can keep your 2.2 liter four bangers. (The preceeding was an editorial opinion. -- It just escaped out my fingers.) Any comments would be appreciated. Please E-mail and I will summerize. Thanks! Ron -- -- Ronald O.
