[comp.sys.next] Can you use a Mac MIDI interface on the NeXTstation???

Hello,
I'm trying to hook up my CZ-1 to my NeXTstation. At first I thought I
could just make a cable and hook up my NeXT directly to my CZ-1. In fact,
I did this, but it did not work. I then read some old netnews and
discovered that you need a "MIDI translator" to hang off the NeXT's serial
port. Well, I got one for $42 (an Opcode MIDI Translator), but it still
doesn't work. This time, I think it's because the MIDI Translator was
designed for a Mac (which uses RS-422) and not a NeXTstation (which uses
RS-423).

Is it possible to make a cable to convert 423 to 422? Here's the pinout
of the MIDI Translator:
	1: clock
	2: ---
	3: RXD-
	4: ---
	5: TXD-
	6: RXD+
	7: ---
	8: TXD+

I called Opcode and they said they haven't been able to get a NeXTstation
to test it out, though I hear that their $400 product (Studio 3) does
work.

Thanks very much! Ross.
