I'm wondering how much an extra 12MB of RAM will speed up an '040 station presently running with 8MB or RAM. And is 20MD a legal configuration?; that is, if I buy four 4 4MB simms and replace 4 1MB simms will the NeXT recognize that I have 20MB of RAM or must I have multiples of eight. And if I do have 20MB of active RAM as opposed to 8 will the machine actually use it, say for instance to less swaping on the hard drive, or will the extra RAM just sit there empty unless I'm running an especially "RAM intensive" application - what ever that may mean!?
