[comp.sys.next] Kermit and *lots* of system CPU time - why?

zazula@uazhe0.physics.arizona.edu (RALPH ZAZULA) (03/05/91)

I'm running CKermit 5A(163) ALPHA under NS 2.0 on an '030 Cube...

I'm also running the Monitor program that was mentioned on this list.

I noticed that when I do a file transfer on my 9600 baud modem,
the system time goes to 100% with ~60-70% of that being in system
mode. Is this expected behaviour?? I'm also using 2000byte packets
'set rec pack 2000' and either 2 or 3 blocks 'set block 3'.

Thanks,
Ralph
