Hello to the net, We have just recently purchused a NeXTstation '040' (NeXT 2.0) and several peripherials. A CDC WrenVI 660 and a Wang DAT 4mm tape drive. Both devices could be recognized by a Macintosh II. After setting the SCSI ID#s to 2 for the CDC and 3 for the DAT we connected them to the NeXT. The CDC was recognized and could be formatted with the distap entry I set up. The Wang DAT 1300 was not recognized at all. I used Jiro Nakamura's SCSI Inquirer and it did not see the DAT although it made it's light's flash for several seconds. The DAT is now externally terminated. We did wait several minutes after powerup of the DAT before starting the NeXT but it did no good. In reviewing the messages file we got the following error. -------------------------------- Mar 6 07:35:42 vaxkiller mach: FPU version 0x40 Mar 6 07:35:42 vaxkiller mach: physical memory = 20.00 megabytes.
