Next shipped an interim version of Mathematica (version 1.2) to the OSU computer store. It arrived today on a single 2.88Mb ED diskette. The local computer store is allowed to distribute this software to anyone who has purchased an 040 NeXT or Ver2.0 software upgrade -- NO COST. The installer requires about 15Mb of free disk space to do it's job. When it's done, the software only takes about 6-7Mb. I haven't seen the instruction sheet yet, but apparently you have to do some file removal yourself to get the disk usage down to the 6-7Mb 'streamlined' version. Tyler

The installer does remove the extra files, asking for confirmation. However, there is no documenation included with this release, so you'd better have the Mathematica book (version 2.0 is out now too, and 200 pages thicker) around, if you want to know which letters to capitalize and which brackets to use where.
