First, I would like to extend my thanks and appreciation to Samuel Streeper for writing BoinkOut. It is very enjoyable and puts to shame the BreakApp "game" that is part of the standard 2.0 release. Secondly, I would like to know how to tell my 2.0 system to try to execute some of the 1.0 binary files I've loaded from Purdue. I have used chmod 666 program.name to make the file executable but I am denied access when I try to run these (for the record, the applications are NX_VOID and AltDock ). I was able to get Tetris to work without any problems. (I assume that Tetris did not have music at 1.0 because it doesn't have it at 2.0) With the other two programs, the default application is Edit. If you have any suggestions let me know through Usenet or at either e-mail below. Thanks! In my last posting, I said: >Secondly, I would like to know how to tell my 2.0 system to try to execute >some of the 1.0 binary files I've loaded from Purdue. Having now fully demonstrated my ignorance of some UNIX (really just lack of practice), I want to retract the plea for help. Several people have pointed out my mistake (and they didn't even rub my nose in it!). Thanks for helping politely. My apologies to any and all offended UNIX gurus. For anyone interested, AltDock and NX_VOID work fine under 2.0. Pat LaCour e-mail: pensoft!lacour!pat@cs.utexas.edu - preferred lacour@austlcm.sps.mot.com "Evolution is trying out intelligence.
