configuration:
watnxt3: netinfo, nfs, and netboot server. (350meg hard disk)
watnxt2: nfs server for user accounts.(350 meg hard disk)
watnxt1: diskless.
Hi all. I gots a small problem. I get this message in /usr/adm/messages file
whenever somebody logs in on console:
Mar 12 21:51:41 watnxt3 -[157]:loginwindow: netinfo problem - No such directory
I also get this message sometimes:
Mar 12 21:52:45 watnxt3 -[157]:loginwindow: Workspace exited ts 0 cd 0 rc 0 sv
0 ss 0.
I am assuming that I messed up the filesystem somehow because I had to hack
the filesystem quite a bit when I installed Mach 2.0.
For example here is a df for watnxt3.

/var is for /usr stuff that is not needed early in the boot sequence that is
exported to watnxt2 and watnxt1. /clients is netboot files for watnxt1.
One other note of interest: watnxt1 is gone right now getting its swapdrive
fixed. (I dont know how netinfo deals with this tho)
We have been having problems lately that I can't explain. Sometimes the
machines will just freeze. All movement stops, even the mouse pointer!
We reboot them and watnxt3 comes up saying it can't find the netinfo
configuration server. This is a problem because watnxt3 IS the netinfo
configuration server. So what I do is I go into the NetManager utility
and click ok in the local configuration and reboot the machine again.
This time it comes up correctly and everything seems to work for another
day or 2. Am not sure that this is related to the netinfo problem message
above. But it is rather strange behavior. If anybody knows how I can track
these two problems down I would really appreciate some info.
