I am having problems reading several floptical disks. Several months back, I started getting ECC read errors but was no sure what the cause was or how to repair the disks. fsck could not find alternative bitmaps thus was not any help. Now I find that two floptical disks have corupt super blocks and can not be read at all. Using the program disk and all the alternative super blocks did not help - all the alternate blocks were unreadable by disk. Any ideas on how to read these disks? I thought about doing a raw read of the flopticals and doing some sort of string matching technique to get back some of my private documents - seems a bit long winded but may work! Jonathan Tilley
