[net.auto] Loss of oil causing permanent damag

mikey@techsup (01/05/86)

As much as I hate people who repost an entire note for just a few lines,
I still agree. even if there is no apparant damage now, I'd take the
car to a dealer (i.e. manufacturer of the car) and explain what happened
and have the engine checked. The place that screwed up the oil change
might even be willing to foot the bill if you talk to them first.
The dealer can pull the valve cover and check for scoring, and actually
testing oil pressure and pulling the oil pan and checking the bearings
are relatively easy before something gets to the point that it actually
has to be replaced.
