I'm trying to get the 2.0 version of Mouse-X running on my
NeXT cube. I am downloading the files from cunixf.cc.columbia.edu
to a VMS machine and then to the NeXT. Somewhere along the way,
the files got munched. I tried combining the *.Znn files on both
the VMS and NeXT but neither of them worked. uncompress fails
on both systems. The resulting partial .tar file stops at the
same point on both systems, namely (this from the VMS machine):
444 11084 Feb 19 01:42:32 1991 X11R4/usr/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi/helvB12.snf
444 12124 Feb 19 01:42:32 1991 X11R4/usr/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi/helvB14.snf
444 14212 Feb 19 01:42:33 1991 X11R4/usr/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi/helvB18.snf
End of Tar file found.
Since it took a *long* time to download this file to the NeXT, I'd
like to find a way to salvage it, or, make sure that the next
time I download it, it will work. Does anyone have any suggestions
on what is going on here? I tried VMS SET FILE/EOF on the .Z file
but that didn't work...
