I received my 040 upgrade friday evening, DOA. I bought it and the cube which was to host it at BL in november. Having heard all the horor tales about BL I figured I'd try to deal directly with NeXT. BIG mistake. I got some lady who didn't apear to know what she was talking about and was rude to boot. Feeling frustrated I called BL and what a surprise. I keep forgetting that though they don't know much about the NeXT they are nice people who are willing to try to help. I don't know how things will go now but I wanted to tell this group that BL is not as bad as some people make them out to be. One of the things the lady at NeXT did tell me was that I could either buy a floppy drive or not get v2.1, no choices there at all. At this pace maybe I'm better off without my 040 since floating point is one of the things we do a lot of at work. Shame though as I would have liked to be able to use the two serial ports without their locking up all the time.
