Subject: New car information

	Gary,

First my unbiased comment on where to get information:

	1. NEW CAR magazines (American and Foreign) available at stores
that have ALOT of magazines like larger newstands. Little
paperback books by EDMUNDS are also helpful. The magazines
that I suggested are not like Car & Driver, etc. They spe-
cialize in just the cars themselves; dealer cost and retail
cost, additional charges, small comments, small photo with
about three cars listed per page in manufacture's name in
alphabetical order are clues to the kind of mag I'm talking
about. There are paperback books in bookstores telling you
how to buy a new car are usefull to -- one is called HOW TO
BUY A NEW CAR in red letters on a white background by James
	    Ross.

	 2.	Second my (biased) choice in the category you are looking for:

'86 Mitsubishi Starion LE (can be had for @15k)
		 '85 " " LE (can be had for @11k)

(also same car as Dodge/Plymouth Conquest)

Both of these year cars are very close it the way they are
		built. I should know...

You may ask how I know 1 & 2 above are true...well I got out of school
last year and bought a '85 Mits. Starion for regular retail price of
15K and 14% loan. I used the 'How to buy a new car' paperbook book
just this weekend and I (we, wife and I) traded it in for a cash
difference of $3000. What does this mean?...well we had paid 3555 on
our loan already....and $3000 to that gives you a lower total...plus
we financed at a lower rate than 14% and the result was a lower monthly
payment for a new car!! (By the way my car had 24,500 miles in 8 months
and was also in great condition). i.e. very good trade in value VERY
nice car. Outside and inside very distinctive compared with Toyota's,
Mustangs, Nissan's, take a look at their specs...

Let me know how you make out.
