[comp.sys.next] TopDraw: Arrows on stroked lines bug? AND Memory

murphy@gibbs.physics.purdue.edu (William J. Murphy) (03/21/91)

Yesterday, I spoke with Media Logic about the Arrow-on-line-segment bug.
Yes it is in fact a bug, they know about and regret that it is there. They
have a bug fix available, you will have to call them in order to get it.
There is a simple work around for the bug.

Instead of using the line segment tool, use the polygon tool (as I call it,
the spline tool as they call it) This is the icon with the many straight lines
in the right hand column of icons. Anyways, draw your straight line with
that tool and then stick the arrow heads on. It works.

Has anyone noticed that when you add arrow-heads to lines (under the Stroke...
menu), strange things can happen? Namely, the document won't print at all,
and exporting to an EPS file creates a "buggy" file? When I remove all the
arrows, all my problems go away... I'm running on a '040 with 2.0.

And for anyone who is using TopDraw, you may want to know that switching from
8 to 20 Megs made the program *much* faster (even more than other Apps), and
it also no longer frequently crashes (hasn't crashed in a few hours work).
That's a relief! So I would strongly recommend running it under more than
8 Meg (then again, everything is better with more than 8 Meg!).
