When I try initialize an optical, I get an Alert saying the initialization failed. Is my optical drive bad? This has happened on more than one disk. The drive performs other functions fine, for now. The Alert looks as follows; _______________________________________________________________ | | | Alert | |...............................................................| | | | Disk initialization failed, error code 256 (usr/etc/disk | | -i -h audrey -l "OpticalDisk"/dev/rod0a) | | | | | | OK | | | |_______________________________________________________________| Thanks for any assistance. =============================================================================== Rob Richards Supercomputer & Workstation Support Staff AIR Stanford University Psychologist B.F.
