The Xnext-2.0 files on calvin do not include all of the Xlib files. The library files you need are available on cunixf.cc.columbia.edu in the same directory as the split Xnext as Xlib.tar.Z (or something close to that.) I will try to put a copy of the lib files and the copy/paste additions on calvin later tonight. Andrew zimmer@calvin.stanford.edu

Actually, if you follow the instructions given in the README with the
distribution, you can cd /usr/local/X11R4/usr/lib, and the libraries
are in _that_ directory (instead of in X11 in that directory). I think
they're all there. I wouldn't know if they weren't, as I'm not an X
developer, but what I found there:
libX11.a libXau.a libXdmcp.a libXinput.a libXt.a
libXPM2.a libXaw.a libXext.a libXmu.a liboldX.a
