[comp.sys.next] Another 040 Upgarde mystery...

cyliao@eng.umd.edu (Chun-Yao Liao) (03/22/91)

I know this is probably the least interested topic, but I'd like to know
how many of you are on my same boat. Here goes a little background
history:

Basicaly I was told that I was supposed to receive my upgrade in Nov 90.
OK, motorola couldn't deliver 040 so I waited. Nothing for Dec, Jan.
I called campus rep, they ask me to call local rep. I called both of
them several times, never got any reply. Finally I got a call from local
rep saying that because of blah blah blah, I should receive my upgrade
no later than March 90. I wait and wait and wait, and never hear anything
from NeXT, rep(of anykind)...

Now the scene:
I called local rep again, (they already know me well!) The secretary
told me that something must went wrong, so she called Redwood, and supposed
to get back to me ASA she get any info back from Redwood. She couldn't
get any reply. She gave me the number to call (which goes directly to
the head of customer serices (I think, or at least something like that)
Got answering machine there. So I left a message explaining briefly
about my situation and hope she could call me back. It's been days now
and I still havent got any "sign" from NeXT. I even send an e-mail to
that very same person, no reply either.

my questions:
What the XXXX is this customer service doing?
Can Mr Holmes solve this mistery?
is my upgrade being sent to black hole which was replaced by "recycle"?

my solution:
1. keep waiting (I HATE WAITING!!!!!)
2. Sell it. I don't like to do this, but I paid TOO MUCH and now I am having
trouble paying tuition (remember foreign students pay about 3 times
more than an American, and are restrickted to work off campus) So make
me offer... please be reasonable, it's going to be 030 cube upgraded
to 040, with disk frame for 4 half-height devices. 8 megs, MOD, 320 meg
   HD, os2.0 extended.

uh... what a life...
