I have been trying to get the Purdue archive-server to respond to a help request as per the comp.sys.next FAQ file. I have already sussed that the address in that document is incorrect--it instructs me to send a message containing the subject line "help" to "archive-server@cc.purdue". That address gets my message returned to me, but "archive-server@cc.purdue.edu" results in a bit more of a satisfactory conclusion, but only a bit. I get a message back telling me that there is a "Remote Protocol Error". I am a UNIX newcomer and my grasp on how the net works is tenuous at best, so a "remote protocol error" means about as much to me as theoretical accounting. Can someone please enlighten me as to what I'm doing wrong? cheers adam ########################################################################## asmith@questor.wimsey.bc.ca The Chameleon Papers - Vancouver, BC Graphic Artist - Bad Mood Guy - NeXT user Human beings are a great disappointment to me, and it doesn't help one bit that I am one --SF ########################################################################## Fingers Down The Throat Of Love
