David Anthony answered this one pretty well. Suffice to say that I like seat belts because they hold me in place. Whenever we have a good snow I like to go out to an empty parking lot and practise skidding. If you try this without seatbelts, you may find out the hard way why I like them. -- In-Real-Life: Chris Torek, Univ of MD Comp Sci Dept (+1 301 454 4251) UUCP: seismo!umcp-cs!chris CSNet: chris@umcp-cs ARPA: chris@mimsy.umd.edu

My big beef with airbags: what good are they in multiple collisions? Sure, I rearend somebody at a stop or in a panic stop, the bag does it's job. What if I sideswipe another car and go off the road (WHAT?? MY FAULT???? NEVER!!!!) The bag may fire on the first colision, but there would be no protection for any following collisions. It would be interesting to see what the percentage of collisions were 1 impact as opposed to multiple impact. mikey trsvax!techsup!bbimg!mikey ps 55, it just plain S*CKS!! Why can't people be made responsible for their actions instead of trying to make others responsible for their inactions?
