I just submitted iLog v0.9b1 to the purdue archives. What it is: iLog will source one's .cshrc, .login, and/or .ilogspace (an auxillary file that I made up) whenever iLog is executed (you can select which files via some preference buttons). Obvious uses: stick it on the dock and have it set so that your .cshrc and .login get auto-execed whenever you login to the machine (whether or not terminal is started). From those files (and .ilogspace), you can do Many Useful Things: - shrink the NeXT icon to a Very Small And Unobtrusive Size - put Useful Information into your .plan file - do those things that you can only really do from a csh. Caveats: - the source is included, but is ugly. it is a hack. - there are bugs-- mainly due to me not checking for erroneous conditions such as files not existing. Future: - turn the bloody printer off automatically. I know how to do this now, but if the printer is off, it turns it on and then turns it off -- obviously unacceptable.... - add error checking (like checking to see if .ilogspace exists before attempting to execute it). Please send me any suggestions, bugs, etc... BTW: Ignore the picture in the info-panel, I have shaved my head since that was taken and haven't had a chance to get a new picture digitized yet. :-) b.bum b.bumgarner | Disclaimer: All opinions expressed are my own. wb1j+@andrew.cmu.edu | I officially don't represent anyone unless I NeXT Campus Consultant | explicity say I am doing so.
