[comp.sys.next] kermit, escape sequences, new keyboard design

wilson@mimsy.umd.edu (Anne Wilson) (04/06/91)

Many, many thanks to all who responded to my posting about
problems getting kermit to recognize the escape sequence.
It seems that moving the '\' key over to the key pad on
the new keyboards causes it not to work as expected when
pressed with the control key. As per the suggestions I
recieved, I simply told kermit
	set escape 29
which sets the escape sequence to be cntl-] ( the ']'
is *not* in the key pad group).

The messages were also helpful in helping me to set things
up better. (For me, trying to learn how to use kermit by
reading the documentation was like trying to learn to
drive a car by reading about how the engine is built!)
Thanks so much!

Anne
