[comp.sys.next] Ethernet Terminators

mikec@wam.umd.edu (Michael D. Callaghan) (04/04/91)

Where do you folks on a network get your terminators? I've called
"Network Specialists" in the DC area, and I haven't found any yet!
Radio Shack doesn't carry them (some of the folks I spoke to had
no idea what they are). This is getting annoying ;-)

Thanks...

Get a BNC connector an solder a 50 ohm resistor across -- if all else fails.

I have had the same problem... I ended up buying terminators, cable
and BNC and T connectors mail-order from Altex Electronics in San
Antonio. They have *VERY* good prices on Ethernet stuff. An Ethernet
terminator (part # 9008) is $2.40 in quantities up to 25. T
connectors (part # 8140) are $3.00.

Their # is 1-800-531-5369.
