According to the NeXT Systems Administration Guide, one can configure the NeXT to automatically look to /dev/ttya as an "alternative console" if it finds no Megapixel Display attched. I have been told in the past by a number of people that you cannot unhook the Display, as this will cause a power supply problem. Also, I have no idea how I would turn the computer on without the monitor and keyboard. These thigns aside, I would like to find out the feasability of purchasing another Cube, selling off the "old keyboard," putting the monitor away for when mine dies, stuffing the new cube with drives and memory, and using it for a print/file server. I called NeXT, and was told to check with my local Campus Computer Consultant Center -- How 'bout it guys? -- MikeC _________________________________________________________ Michael D.
