I was considering buying a number of different types of computing equipment, two of which being an X-terminal and a NeXT. The NeXT is looking expecially good, since it can do the job of the X-terminal, and seeing as how academic price is only about three times as much, it seems a good buy (other than the fact that it does much more!!) Anyway, here's my question: I would use the X-terminal through a modem (a fast one!) to connect up to the network at school. Then I could have the machine I connect to start-up as a server and run X-applications on it and use my terminal as the client. How hard would this feat be with a NeXT? I mean, it's really easy to double click on the icon and startup a session, but with the NeXT acting as client and server... Thanks for any help in advance. The NeXTs at school are slabs and have mouse-X installed on them (I think--the icon is the X-logo with a mouse below it) Greg Rhodes gr1c@andrew.cmu.edu
