Well, aspinwal@wam.umd.edu asked me to format and BuildDisk his Fujitsu 660M hard drive. This came in parts, so it's not a prepackaged deal. Well, the format and BuildDisk went peachy fine. Sounded like the Battle of the Bulge, since I have a Fujitsu 340M... But, when we went to make sure it could boot off of that disk, it didn't. So we read the directions. <ahem> It mentioned taking out two jumper shunts on CH9 (CN9?), dealing with synchronous transfer and some sort of reply thing. (1-2 and 15-16). So we tried that. Different error, but it still didn't work. Anybody have any clues as to why this isn't working? I read the FAQ, and it mentioned that the NeXT SCSI bus does not support syncronous SCSI transfers, so I put that jumper back in. I also tried that one off but the other one in, so I tried all four combinations and it still wouldn't boot. Please Email reply to matthews@lewhoosh.umd.edu and/or aspinwam@wam.umd.edu; I'm somewhat behind on this newsgroup with no free time in sight to catch up. ------ Mike Matthews, matthews@lewhoosh.umd.edu (NeXT)/matthews@umdd (bitnet) ------ "I may kid around about drugs, but really, I take them seriously." - Doctor Graper
