We went around car peeping at the local dealer and noticed that some of the 86's didn't have the third brake light , i.e. Buick Grand National. Aren't they suppose to be mandatory or can you request that it not be installed? -- Doug Boyce Daemen College, Buffalo NY UUCP : {decvax, dual, rocksanne, watmath}!sunybcs!daemen!boyce ihnp4!kitty!daemen!boyce ARPA : boyce%buffalo@csnet-relay "And you too can go to Daemen College and enter the high tech field of floor polishing."

I don't know what that distance is, but I'm sure it would be met on any full size American car.

I was told (by either AAA or my insurance company) that the third brake light is mandatory on all cars manufactured after October 1985.
