[comp.sys.next] Imake problem in the MouseX release

rabe@stolaf.edu (brett m rabe; Jiffy Script Inc.) (04/20/91)

I'm having a problem with imake (xmkmf) and am
wondering if anyone out there has already run
into this and can mail me the solution. . . I am
a fairly faithful reader of the newsgroup, but I
don't remember seeing this. . .

Also -- is there a better place for this question?

Here's the problem. . . . when I run xmkmf, this
is the output:
mv Makefile Makefile.bak
imake -DUseInstalled -I/usr/lib/X11/config
/usr/lib/X11/config/Imake.tmpl:199: unterminated character constant
/tmp/IIf.028766:9: unterminate string of character constant
imake: Exit code 33. Stop.

This is running on a 68040 cube, OS 2.1, 16M memory.

I am not familiar with imake, and so I am looking for help
somewhere outside of my brain . . . :) Any help appreciated. . .
I assume that either my Imake.tmpl was screwed up somehow,
or everyone else has solved this, since I know imake is used
considerably in compiling X programs.

Thanks!

(By the way -- MouseX looks wonderful aside from this small problem.)

Brett
